Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vasavi College of Engineering, Hyderabad in association with Siemens PLM software presents 4th National Solid Modeling Contest-2013

Founded in 1981 by Vasavi Academy of Education, Vasavi College of Engineering represents a rich tradition of excellence in technology-based education. A premier-league institution among the affiliates of Osmania University, Vasavi College of Engineering owes its vision to Sri Pendekanti Venkata Subbaiah, a veteran statesman of Independent India.

Located in the sylvan suburbs of Ibrahimbagh in Hyderabad, Vasavi College of Engineering presents a picturesque view flanked by the glorious Golconda Fort. Situated over a sprawling 13.6 acre campus with lush lawns, lovely landscape, aesthetic architecture and avant-garde infrastructure, the College epitomizes an exemplary setting for higher learning.

The College is located in the environs of the glorious Golconda Fort, at Ibrahimbagh, about 9 kms from the hub of Hyderabad City. The campus is spread over a sprawling 13.6 acres of sylvan and salubrious locale. It stands tall overlooking the beautiful "Taramati", an enduring symbol of erstwhile Nizam's love for the danseuse "Taramati". The lush green lawns bedecked with avenues of trees and rich flora all over the campus create an inspiring environment that spreads colligiance & homeliness.

The city enjoys a tropical climate and is the centre stage of IT revolution in India. About Department

  • Established in the year 1981, the Department offers a 4-year B.E. and a 2-Year M.E. Degree Programmes:
    Mechanical Engineering (1981) [B.E], with an annual intake of 120 students
    Advanced Design & Manufacturing [M.E], with an annual intake of 18 students
  • The Staff
    The Department has 28 members of faculty and 21 members of supporting staff. With 5 Professors, 7 Associate Professors and 16 Assistant Professors, the Department is one of the well established Mechanical Engineering Departments in the state.
  • Infrastructure
    The Infrastructural resources of the Department include laboratories: (a) Applied Thermodynamics, (b) Thermal Engineering, (c) CAD/CAM (d) Robotics (e) Metallurgy Lab. (f) Machine Tools (g) Welding, (h) Metal Forming, (i) Metal Casting and (h) Metrology & Instrumentation and A central workshop with the facilities of Carpentry, House Wiring, Fitting, Smithy, and Welding imparts necessary skills to the students.
